Together, We Are the Majority
Last week I had the honor of speaking at the Greater Palatine Area Democrats Annual Fundraiser event.
When I looked out into the room last night, I could feel it—the energy, the urgency, and the deep love people in our community have for one another. It reminded me why I’m running for State Senate in the 27th District.
Because at the end of the day, this work isn’t about politics. It’s about people—our neighbors, our families, and the future we’re all trying to build together.
These are not easy times. Our rights, our values, and our democracy itself are being tested every single day. But I believe moments like this don’t break us—they reveal us. And what I see being revealed, again and again, is courage, compassion, and a community that refuses to back down.
We need each other now more than ever.
When parents, teachers, union workers, small business owners, and immigrants link arms, we are unstoppable. I’ve seen it firsthand—when we organize, we win. When we show up for one another, real change happens.
That’s what this campaign is about. It’s not just about dollars—it’s about power. Collective power. The kind that fuels movements, protects freedoms, and ensures that no one gets left behind.
Every conversation, every volunteer shift, every donation matters. Together, we’re building an Illinois where working families can thrive, where our kids feel safe, and where truth still matters. We’re standing up for affordable housing, fair wages, strong public schools, accessible healthcare, immigrant rights, and a government that works for all of us—not just the privileged few.
So if you’ve ever wondered whether your voice makes a difference—let me tell you, it does.
This is our Illinois, and we are not handing it over to fear or extremism. We are building a state where people look out for one another. Where leadership means listening. Where government is good again.
Let’s keep fighting—for our neighbors, for our children, and for everything we know is worth it. Because together, we are the majority. And together, we will win.
Thank you for your support, your trust, and your belief in what we can build together.
Let’s keep going—because together, we’re stronger.
With gratitude,
Carina Santa Maria
Candidate for Illinois State Senate, District 27
