I have gotten to know Carina over the last few years, including as we serve together on the Arlington Heights Village Board, and I am impressed by her dedication to public service. She is thoroughly prepared for every issue, asks probing questions when needed, yet keeps an open mind as she gathers information from staff and community members prior to making a final vote on an issue.
As the former CEO of a multi-million-dollar nonprofit organization, Shelter Inc., Carina has experience with responsible budgeting, and she brings the same care when dealing with taxpayer money in Arlington Heights.
Carina is also experienced in working with the state legislature, as she advocated for the young people who are served by Shelter. In other words, she is no stranger to Springfield!
