This endorsement means a lot to me.

Trustee Colin Gilbert understands the juggle in a way not everyone can. We’re both Village Trustees. We’re both parents of school-aged kids. We’re both balancing meetings, work, family, school schedules, sports, and all the things that come with showing up for our community while raising a family.

So when Colin says he supports me, it means something deeper.

He sees the work. He sees what happens behind the scenes. He knows how much preparation, time, and heart it takes to serve well, on top of everything else life demands.

I’m incredibly grateful to have the support of my colleague and fellow parent-in-the-juggle, Trustee Colin Gilbert.

Thank you, Colin, for seeing the work and believing in what I’ll bring to the Illinois Senate.

“I’ve had the privilege of serving alongside Carina Santa Maria on the Arlington Heights Village Board, and what has always stood out to me is the compassion and preparation she brings to public service.
Carina takes the time to understand the issues before us, asks thoughtful questions, and doesn’t lose sight of the people and families affected by the decisions our Village Board makes.
We are both raising young families here in Arlington Heights, and that shared experience gives each of us a real appreciation for the kind of community we want to leave for our children.
I have truly enjoyed getting to know Carina as a colleague, as a fellow parent, and as a neighbor. I have a great deal of respect for the care, thoughtfulness, and dedication she brings to serving Arlington Heights.
Due to this dedication to serving, I fully endorse her candidacy for the Illinois State Senate.”
